Your Safety Comes First
Pingo helps adults discover people, events, and travel ideas, but it does not conduct criminal background checks, supervise meetings, or guarantee a user’s identity, intentions, statements, event, venue, or conduct. A profile, badge, mutual friend, attendee list, review, Travel Rank, or Pro subscription is not a safety guarantee.
Use your own judgment and choose the level of interaction that feels right. You never owe anyone a reply, meeting, ride, payment, location, explanation, or continued contact.
Protect Your Account And Personal Information
Keep your sign-in method and device secure. Pingo support will not ask for your password, one-time code, payment-card number, bank login, gift card, or cryptocurrency transfer.
Avoid putting your home address, accommodation room, identity document, financial details, personal schedule, or exact arrival and departure movements in a public profile, event, trip, review, or place note.
Use Location Features Carefully
Nearby Buddy displays approximate discovery information, but context can still reveal more in sparsely populated places. Pause location sharing or turn off nearby visibility whenever you do not want to appear in discovery.
A location you deliberately share in chat is visible to that conversation’s participants. Share a public meeting point instead of a home, hotel room, or other sensitive location, and remove yourself from the situation if someone pressures you to reveal where you are.
Before Meeting Or Joining An Event
Review the profile, event details, venue, attendee information, and recent changes. Ask questions in Pingo and independently verify the venue, opening hours, access rules, cost, transportation, and local conditions.
For a first meeting, prefer a populated public place and a reasonable time. Tell a trusted person who you are meeting, where you plan to be, and when you expect to check in. Consider sharing your plans directly with that trusted person outside Pingo.
Transportation And Exit Planning
Arrange transportation you control and know how you will leave. Keep enough battery, connectivity, identification, and funds to get somewhere safe. Avoid depending on a new acquaintance for your only ride, accommodation, documents, or money.
Meet at the announced venue rather than accepting an unexpected private-location change. If details change in a way that feels unsafe, do not attend or leave.
Consent, Alcohol, And Boundaries
Respect personal, physical, sexual, and conversational boundaries. Consent must be voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time. Event attendance, friendliness, shared travel interests, alcohol use, or prior consent never implies consent to anything else.
Keep control of your food and drinks, know your limits, and never pressure someone to drink or use a substance. Do not drive impaired or accept a ride from an impaired driver.
Money, Tickets, And Scam Awareness
Be cautious if someone quickly asks for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, investment, travel rescue, ticket payment, deposits, financial credentials, or an urgent transfer. Verify costs and vendors independently.
Pingo does not collect or split event bills between users. Agree on costs before participating, pay reputable businesses directly when possible, and do not send money you cannot recover to someone you have not independently verified.
Trips, Places, And AI Suggestions
AI-generated itineraries, place details, routes, addresses, hours, prices, and external-source information may be incomplete or outdated. Verify important details with authoritative local sources before traveling or attending.
Check government travel guidance, weather, health requirements, visas, insurance, accessibility, transportation, neighborhood conditions, and emergency numbers appropriate to your destination. Pingo is not a travel agency or emergency service.
If Something Feels Wrong
Trust your instincts. End the conversation, decline the plan, leave the venue, move to a populated place, contact someone you trust, and block the user when appropriate. You do not need to remain polite in an unsafe situation.
Use Pingo’s report tools for conduct that may violate our Community Guidelines. Include accurate context and preserve relevant messages or details when doing so is safe. Blocking stops supported interactions but does not automatically create a report.
Emergencies
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local police, medical, fire, rescue, crisis, or other emergency services. Pingo cannot dispatch help, monitor an event in real time, or guarantee that an in-app report will be reviewed during an emergency.
After reaching safety, you may report the user or event in Pingo and contact support@pingoapp.co. We may preserve relevant records or cooperate with valid legal requests as described in our Privacy Policy.
